sorry I missed the earlier thread but I just found a reference to the rumours about Chinese Spitfires in a modelling book on the Spitfire - was this the original source of the thread??
The book says the Spits were passed on by Russia so are we talking Communists here - for some reason I'd assumed it was the Nationalists - don't know why.
Sorry if this is old news from an old source-put me back in a darkened room with padded walls if necessary.
