: Well said Dan Jones!

My reason for raising this question is not to down play the restoration or complete re-build of an aircraft, it is exactly the opposite.

I am a true believer that if a person or group faithfully reproduces an aircraft, faithful to the original blueprints, engine(s), prop(s), avionics, etc, add a repo data plate to it, it is a real aircraft.

As most will know, and some not; most combat aircraft were just worn out at wars' end, and were simply destroyed on location at their bases. The replacement aircraft that had just come off the assembly line were used as the replacements as they were fresh, especially engines and props.

Most aircraft seen today on the circuit, have very little original components left on them. This may be due to several things, crashed, corrision, and age, to name a few.

My initial question still stands, I just do not see why the EAA and others do not share the same views.

While I feel the original intentions of the Warbirds division of the EAA may have started out as a gathering point for like-minded enthusists, it has been left to the "Warbird Divisions", to pick up the slack.

My most recent case for this is, they won't even respond to my mail with my questions.

Utimately, one of my wishes is for the people who desire to create,re-build, restore, or even re-manufacture these fine aircraft, these faithful few, like myself; not to be deterred from their passion.

We need more of them, both people and planes, not less. If for no other reason, then for the love of these aircrafts, or to show their support for the ones who were there.

As a final note, it would be nice if there were better communications between aircraft owners and enthusists. If for no other reason than the ability to communicate and assist each other.

David
