XP-40Q possibilities

I was just thumbing through Flight Journal's latest P-40 issue and was once again taken aback by the beautiful lines of the XP-40Q/P-40K.

Does anyone have an idea how much of the standard P-40 airframe remained unchanged with the XP-40Q design? I've often thought this would make an excellent one-off reproduction for someone with the remains of a very derelict P-40, IF there is enough commonality between the two airframes. Looking at the photos, the XP-40Q might have been an entirely new design, but I'm a non-experten on the type :)

Any educated guesses on how difficult it might be to reproduce one of these from P-40 bits?
