I'm sure there's a lot of events I would like to be at but since it's almost the anniversary:
I'd go back ten years to Saturday, April 18 1992, and go to the Chino airport, instead of riding around Seal Beach with me mum....depressed...for reasons I don't want to relate. Because on that day, David Tallichet flew his B-26 Marauder for the first time since it's crash landing in the Yukon territory on Jan 16, 1942. I'd been hanging out at Chino almost every Sat during that time and that was one day I missed. And David Price flew his Hurricane that morning for the first time in the US also!!!!! I'd been there for the Marauder's initial engine runs and first flight attempt, and was gathering all kinds of info on it... So I was pretty p****ed off to miss that flight. Ah well I can take solace from the fact that I'm the first to get air to air of it, and that was a total accident, with thanks to Sammy for coercing me to the Chino airport on August 5, 1993.
And back then, there were no security goons and locked gates like there is now. Thanks to Osama and his buddies for ruining what was once an open airport.
