Ever since I got to know a bunch of Spitfire XII pilots in the mid 1980s, the answer has always been the same. Tangmere, October 20, 1943, first to meet them when they were young and to get a taste of what their lives were like at he time. Then to see all those Spit XIIs of the Tangmere Wing (41 & 91) squadrons. Finally to go along on their best day as a Wing when they got 9 for no loss.
