Hi Cees,
that?s the information that I?ve found too but, in addition I?ve got a video recording of a Discovery broadcast, covering the Butcher Bird, which includes war time footage.
It shows that the wing is built in two halves, bolted together at the centerline.
The video contradicts all other information and I can?t figure it out, I?ve watched it tens of times ...... and I?ll watch it again.
Maybe the wing was built in two halves and that joining them together included more than just bolts at the centerline, possibly riveting, making it a one piece unit when finished.
(I can feel my hair turning a more greyish shade ......)
The Champlin D-13 is also featured in this video so, maybe I?ll send an e-mail to Lynn Davies, the shop foreman at Gosshawk, asking him.
I?ve never heard about boosted ailerons in the context of the Fw190 either, that?s why I?m curious on that one!
Thanks,
Christer
