As webmaster of the 361st fighter group website www.361fg.com and close friend of Steve Gotts the group historian, there is no doubt in our mind (through interviews with vets, crash digs & looking at official records) that the aircraft were Olive Drab not blue.

Blue came about from erroneous statements made by historians about 20 years ago.

Chuck Greenhill uses Lou IV as a run-about (wouldn'it be great to have 2 Mustangs like this) & is not to bothered about its authencity. Whereas Geraldine was restored to museum standard and alot of time and effort was put into getting it right.

We are working closely with people who are interested to make sure that 361st Fg marked aircraft are depicted as accurately as possible. In fact Steve and I have recently worked with the OFMC to ensure Ferocious Frankie is painted as accurately as poss.

Hope this helps!!
