Had a tour of the restoration facility last year. when told of the half & half Hampden, I must admit I was not entirely convinced of their motives.Imagine my horror when the boss there told us of the daft (in my humble opinion) idea of cutting up the Stirling wreckage which they have in store, & nailing on a dummy top turret to make a "hands on" exhibit for the kids! Why the hell don't they pass it on to the guys who are trying to resurrect a complete example???
