In the past three years I have helped a friend restore the 26th production UH-1A from a basket case into a really decent static exhibit. We are working on his Dauntless (a former wind-machine being restored to fly) and an A-4 cockpit section right now. I am also collecting non-airworthy corsair parts for a static project, so please let me know if you come across anything.
Cheers,
Richard
: G'day all,
: Reading all of the postings over time, it seems as thoug
: h we have a number of people amongst us, who are physicall
: y involved with aircraft, be they flying, static or projec
: ts. What I would like to know is, the approx. number of pe
: ople who are doing so. It would also be great to know what
: specific types are owned or being restored. However, if y
: ou wish not to state the type, then that's fine, because I
: know that many people are reasonably private. If you wis
: hed to, perhaps even send me an e-mail with such details.
: Don't worry, the information wouldn't be used anywhere (at
: least not by myself), but is just for personal interest.
: To start us off, I am working on restoring a CAC Wirraway
: to flying condition.
: Am really looking forward to the responses to this one.
