one seaters vs. two seaters

There was an interesting argument about Mustangs and Me. 262's regarding the rebuilding of trainers. Personally, I don't like the look of the bulbous canopys and out shape appearance...but...I can tell you that when you sitting in the backseat holding the stick you can really give a rats' arse about looks. Two seaters are blessings for those of us that fall short on the budget to buy one of these exotic aircraft. You honestly can't tell me that there are any guys on this board that would pass up a seat on one of those new build 262's? We are witnesses to a golden age of aircraft restoration...enjoy it while it lasts and take advantage of every opportunity to fly. The Collings foundation, Stallion 51, Tom Rielly's Museum, Warbird adventures...sure they are there to make money..but it gives us a chance to experience history. When I go to airshows now, or look at history books I am so very greatful that I had the chance to experience these machines first hand, albeit without the flak. I'd love to see replicas of the TF4U, and TP-39 emerge from a restoration shop. Very cool indeed.
