Hi Jeff
I only know of the 2 aircraft you mentioned, the preserved A27-99 at Camden & the composite but basically complete A27-247 at Albany undergoing static restoration.
Although the wreckage from at least 4 different aircraft still exists in Victoria, but ones underwater, and there is another Vengeance located on the great barrier reef, (ditched) in Queensland.
As recently as 1978 the wreckage of a Vengeance was uncovered at Yanchep in Western Australia whilst bulldozers were clearing land for a pine plantation. The RAAF came in and excavated the site and transported the wreckage (a lot) back to Pearce RAAF Base. Rumour is that it all sat for awhile in a shed on the base (was used as a display on a base open day), before it was eventually disposed of as land fill in a sand quarry opposite the base gate. (along with wreckage from several other aircraft that had accumulated)
Can I ask where your father was based when flying Vengeances or which squadron?
Regards
Jason
: One of my favourites too as my father flew them in ww2.
