Some years back, didn't someone in Canada re-engine a Firefly with a Merlin? Was that Bob Diemert? IIRC, it had a quite short life, ending in a lake, from which the pilot didn't emerge, either.

Didn't Bob D sell his Hurricane for the BoB film, with it therefore coming onto the UK register. Presumably, the CAA thought it was OK? Was it sold on to Strathallan,and rebuilt there?
