Actually ,Tony and me were thinking more of a static restoration for the RAFM....in exchange for a Spitty...and I like the Mk 21 LA226 that they have in store still!
You are of course right that much of it would have corroded away, especially since the rear fuselage was built from magnesium, but it's probably the only chance we'll get to see a Whirlwind on display in some form.....unless.....
.....is it known if Westlands or whoever still have the drawings.....I've always fancied building a Whirlwind in my back garden, even if it is not strictly structurally accurate.
