Willco Mick

I put my initial to deconfuse me with my prolific namesake! We have old flight test reports on the Whirlwind in the library at work. It would be lovely if something could be done to resurrect this extinct bird. I dream that some west country yokel replies to my pleas and picks one out of a barn!

When I was a lad in Oxfordshire, I used to try to get farmers to part with old wheels. One chap still used Horsa mainwheels on his trailer. He said he had bought 3 complete Horsas at the end of the war removed the wheels and anything useful. Anyway, he shows me all the wheels in excellent condition and the undercarriage mounts and legs. He then says I kept the rest too! I could not believe my luck. It was straight out of Monty Python...he leads me to the tiniest building on his land opens the door and hands me the remains in a bucket! I took the wheels, legs and bucket contents went to Middle Wallop!
