I think the tour guide was just making controversial (make that stupid) comments. When I last saw the Ta152 in 1998, the fuselage was sitting in the restoration building at Silver Hill close to the Hurricane and other active restorations. Restoration work was being done on her at the time and we took many pictures of cockpit, engine, original swastikas, etc, etc. To scrap such an ultra-rare aircraft would be unthinkable. We've all seen aircraft in much, MUCH worse condition that have been restored to pristine condition. Methinks the Ta152 will have a long life on display at Dulles as the only survivor of its kind.
