Peter;
Thanks for that lead on that AD @ barnstormer.com I will keep my eyes on the for-sale board more often. Girad seems to be selling what are the remains of 5467 and if not other Hurricanes that were simply left in the bush. There are many of them and most of the sites have been picked over. But every now and then one turns up after years of weathering in the harsh Quebec climate. One Hurricane was found while a loggin crew was breaking a road. They called the locate museum and when the official arrived someone had taken most of the "treasured" pieces and left the rest there. The DND is crackin down on this and a permit is needed to do this, not to mention that once recovered U NEED PERMISSION to sell it or any part of it.
Thank goodness this not the aircraft that I am trying to locate, and if ever recover. The paperwork is endless and I really hope that this seller has been in touch with the DND to have permission to sell the parts as it is illegal to sell them without permission from the DND. I was told this that while applying for salvage/title and it is part of legislation now put in place to protect these sites.
SEE THE NEXT THREAD CONCERNING THIS.
