Thanx for that Mick.....Roy Marple was a Battle of Britain veteran...it was sad he was to lose his life in a mid air collision.
My Mustang plate comes from 44-13835 which apparently was with No.4 Mobile Repair Unit at Gatwick. The pilot baled out 8/2/45. That is all I know about that one!
Thanx for the details on K9844, I have the complete stick (spade grip is a contemporary replacement) and as such it is probably the oldest surviving stick from a spit....unless you know differently!!!
