Hi all,
As you well know there have been quite a few postings a few months ago about the supposedly surviving Spitfire 22's in Syria. What I want to know (regarding the efforts to try to find them by sattelite): is there 100% proof that they do exist and if so, are attempts underway to try to recover them (as far as the shaky political climate would allow)?.
Furthermore, keeping the topic Middele Eastern. For years there have always been rumours about Stirlings and Halifaxes in Egypt, Pakistan (not the right time now to look). Are these rumours based on facts or just a fata morgana. I know that some years ago the RAF Museum had searched the area hoping to find a Stirling wreck after hearing reports that after the war a number of wreck were seen at a dump.
Over to you.
Cheers
Cees
