Regarding overhaul, I think that, in Europe, engines, propellers and accessories can only be overhauled by certified repair stations.

Regarding exporting GA aircraft to Europe, I take it that You mean second hand, previously used. I know of a handful of GA aircraft imported second hand from the USA and I?m not aware of any problems obtaining a C of A in Sweden. It?s possible though that this or that had to be overhauled.

If I?m correct the CAA in the country exporting the aircraft issues a "C of A for export" thus testifying that it has been maintained and overhauled in accordance with manufacturers regulations etc. A prerequisite is that the actual type has been type-certified which means that at least one is on the swedish register, if not, you?re up for a treat!
