Talking about perfect days, I've just come back from Gardemoen and Bod? in Norway where I've managed to see 5,5 Ju 88's (and numerous other warbirds and recovered remains) since thursday... As you can imagine I'm in seventh heaven!!! Walking on small clouds...;-) I've actually had difficult to fall asleep in the evenings on this trip. I've had this feelin you had when you were a small kid and you got loads of presents on x-mas eve and you couldn't decide which toy to play with first because you wanted to play with them all at once! Thats the feeling you get after spending some hours in they're storage hangars, the museums, restoration shops and listening to their stories and plans for the future...
Paul, believe me, these guys really know what they are doing. I got to see some examples of the documentation they have on wreck sites that they have researched and either recovered, or evaluated for possible future recovery - if there are any usable remains there. I was really impressed by the professionalism, effort and dedication I saw amongst the people I met these few days.
As Dave writes they're planning to do some more recoveries this summer so we can just relax and enjoy the good news when they come.
Tomorrow me and my friend will leave the 40 rolls of film we took for development and then there will be some serious updates made on my site in a couple of weeks time..:o)
