You're thinking of Sandown, Cees, that's on the Isle of Wight, I think where some Spits are being rebuilt.
Sandtoft is "up north" on the M180 between Scunthorpe and Doncaster... I just discovered! One lives and learns...

The Lincoln, Lanc and a Tempest were mentioned in Pilot's UK register update this month - restored to the reg I think(G-APRJ, G-BVBP and G-PEST if memory serves), though whether that's an indication that progress will be made with the biggies...?

I remember the pile of Lanc bits outside Doug Arnold's hangar at Biggin about 10 years ago or so...

We don't learn though - we still seem determined to get rid of our less sexy aeronautical history - thinking off-hand there's only one Vanguard and Beverley left and bound to be others where once there were a few, now hardly any. Argosy springs to mind as well.
