Wondering if anyone can help.
Currently chasing down the location of the ME262 believed to have been buried somewhere on the RCAF Downsview base just north of Toronto. Just recently found some people that may know something about the demise of this aircraft as well as some new files at the National Archives in Ottawa.
While looking for photos I came across and photo remark stated that a photo disc of the following was held at the Archives. Something to the effect "ME109 being hoisted up to third floor of Montreal's EATONS department store". Photo taken April 29, 1941.
I stopped at the library to see if I could find the article in the Montreal Gazette that came with the photo. That library didnt have that year but another one in the city does- cant wait.
I wanted to ask if anyone knows what Wern# and where this aircraft is today. It was sent to a dump in Arnprior, Ontario where a member of the Canadian Aviation Historical Society member, Geoff Rowe, rescued it. Guess it was sold to someone and then ???? Saw an article in WARBIRDS I think of this aircraft where it went on display across Canada and then the US known as "white 6" I think. Can anyone other any help on it's history and where it is today?
