I had a word with a member of the Stirling group at Legends last year. He told me that while the fuselage was in use as a chicken coop it had its fuselage floor filled with concrete and also at some point while making alterations for chicken housing in the past, the longerons and most of the frames were cut, this maybe linked with the concrete filling exploits also. He reckoned that for a rebuild they would need to re-skin this section anyway so if they could get the frame measurements/profiles it would be easier to make new bits than to repair the old ones. Well, we can only hope a Stirling will take shape in years to come seeingas there are bits about (RAFM wing sections).
