You are right. As far as I can tell the only things that have been recovered recently are the prop with reduction gear still attached, radiator (and oilcooler?) and part of the wingsurface and some small bits.

It looks like the lake at the crashlocation was quite shallow so in my opinion the force of impact was absorbed by the water. The sand further prevented the aircraft to penetrate deeply causing most of the wreckage to be visible after the crash. It would have been simple for the recovery team to clear the wreckage, recovering most of the fuselage, tail and the wings leaving only the relatively small (and heavy)bits.

I am no restoration expert but I cannot believe that any of those parts would be of use in an airworthy rebuild. I agree with Karen that they should be put on display in a local museum where the historical and emotional value can be appreciated.
