Hi Patrick,
I saw those SNJ's in the 70's and they were pretty bad back then!! I didn't know they were such a big secret as Sam's salvage yard was well known in the warbird world. Back then there were F-6F, SNJ, Skyraider, F-4U, lots of F-9F, and many other parts to be purchased if you needed them.
There were two or three more of the same SNJ airframes sitting outside at Ferguson Field in Pensacola along with a Beech Stagger Wing in an open wooden shed. I looked at them in the early eighties. They may still be sitting there!!!

PS The reason those parts sat outside at Bronson Field so long is that the buildings where FULL of NEW SNJ parts such as NEW fuselages, (some with tail hooks!)NEW wings, and crates and crates of NEW parts. Lance moved all of that stuff first which took lots of time and a lot of truck loads.
