Not many people I believe want to see PV202 fly again and why do HFL never say that they have bought PV202. They always say that they have a 2-seat spitfire.... Come on HFL, we all know what spitfire it is.... Hiding it's identity will not change what happened....
: Interesting question Simon. Part of the brief of Duxford w
: as that organisations based there would have their aircraf
: t on static display when not in use as a means of justifyi
: ng their occupancy. This has now changed slightly
: with the erection of the HFL hanger. My personnal opinion
: is that the hanger was erected 'airside' to allow easy acc
: ess to the flightline but in doing so it has been placed s
: o close to the runway threshold that public access would c
: ommand a substantial premium for insurance.
: Another point on the issue is that HFL will increas
: ingly handle Spitfire's which have suffered mishaps unfor
: tunately that seems to be an unescapable aspect of the inc
: reasing numbers that are taking to the air. An example of
: this could be PV202 - how many people would really like to
: see her at the start of her rebuild ? - I feel not many.
