Sorry Paul.... The great Bitter Lakes are about as salty as you can get! The Suez Canal, joins the Med and the Arabian Gulf, so very very salty.

Kasfareet is always interesting. It was a major RAF MU, my father went through there in 1946 on his way to Libya, and he says the airfield was absolutely crowded with aircraft.

I think I posted something on this, about Horsa gliders and Halibags.

However, other lakes in Egypt are always interesting, can u post some more detail?

As for Bangladesh... Cox's Baazar is like an aircraft graveyard, and it still puzzles me, that nothing has come out of the region, especially, while I was researching Beaufighter losses in the region, and a substantial amount of aircraft forcelanded there and were not recovered.

However, the local aluminium recycling cottage industries, were thriving there, but it doesn't mean there's nothing left.

Can you post more detail?
