OK,

Paul's question is relevant, but then to throw in the rider...."is it balanced" will put another egg on the curate's breakfast table I fear.

We can all argue, the pros and cons, but at the end of the day, I think the only relevant answer is..... "it doesn't really matter where they are. as long as they are relatively easily accessible to the paying punters, or the "lubricant of the warbird movement"

Air travel is just so much easier nowadays, and one of the side-effects of the Sept 11th atrocity, is that air fares have come down. Personally, I'm glad to see BritAir take a kick in the nadgers, over their fare structure in Europe, especially, when it was cheaper for me to fly to Hong Kong on Cathay, then to take a "Club class" flight to Berlin.

There is a wealth of airframes in Europe, that I'm sure the colonies covet. We are particularly lucky in Europe, we do have a lot of airframes, unseen in America, and we should appreciate it. We are "Europeans" now, and should think of ourselves as such, mainly because it prevents another rampant resurgence of nationalism, requiring the US to bail us out of the Sh*t.(Again)

So, the next time, we think, "Oh Christ, there goes another" just remember, you are no more, than 3 hours flying time, from another example, probably just as good.
