The problem with aviation authors.....

Hi all,

Yesterday I got a copy of the latest warpaint series which handled about the Halifax (no prizes for guessing this one).

Although a very good read and with many photographs I hadn't seen before, the author finds it necessary to compare the type with the Lancaster every time he gets the chance. What is the problem with aviation authors, do they wish to keep myths or one-sided views alive?

I'm getting quite fed up with reading such books. I want to read about a certain type (regardless which one) and not expecting a comparison with another type.

JDK, what do you think?

Cees
