Hi All,
The story your thinking of is Freedman Field, this is were alot of the German aircraft were test flown and after their testing was done alot were simply broken up and buried.
In the late 90s Lex(yes the same person who the USN are trying railroad) for four of the dump sites.
He did'nt find whole aircraft but did find some neat items.
Also at NAS Pax River out at the end of the active the USN buried alot of German aircraft I remeber my Dad telling me that ever couple of years the tide would expose them and the Navy would go out and put some more dirt on them. If you ask the Navy their official word is No Comment.
