Because the Norwegian Museums have a very limited budget [ as with all museums ] and only lift/ recover what are 'good' condition wrecks that don't require huge amounts of money to bring up to dipslay condition ..the exception being the Northrop ..and that was only because it was Norwegian operated ..I am sure they wouldn't have gone after that example if they had been aware of the much better example found intact off the coast of Iceland ;-0
They have several unique aircraft , and several rare machines , that are listed for recovery..all of which are fresh water and in at least reasonable shape.
They also go after accesible 'common' types like the Ju52/88 , so they are able to make deals/trades with other Museums which benfit both .
I can only recall two wrecks that came out of salt water in the area , the 190 that was found to be too corroded to do anything with [ although the TAM are totally rebuilding it after initially wanting to use it for cockpit patterns ] ..and of course the Fw200 that was a total debacle , which was German initiated.
The Do 26 is obviously a well known wreck as are several of the other machines in the Narvik harbour [ I think it was a seaplane base ], but the Norwegians will concentrate on what is viable , what is restorable, what is most relevant to Norway and what generates the most interest from 'Joe Public '
