That can be said about most anything! I have a lot of friends into racing that would say the same things.
I have been around Chino regularly since 1982, with my first hangar in 1985. Back then there were barbecues or beer drinking gatherings most every Friday and Saturday evening- not to mention drunken tug races on the runway at night too...(you people know who you are!).
The county has improved security to the point that all the thefts now occur from the regular airport tenants rather than from outsiders. Aircraft radios get stolen from hangars rather than jet-skis. A few years back I was sold a parachute from an acquaintance that had been stolen from my friends' hangar. Got my first ride in a police car going around the airport looking for the guilty party.
After 9/11 the security didn't really change, except they now have a gate guard on duty on the weekends. His job is to let people with good stories indside the gate that couldn't otherwise get in.
: I agree that Chino is definitely the place for warbirds, a

: used to be IMHO.
