I agree that Chino is definitely the place for warbirds, at least in North America. However, it too is not what it used to be IMHO. I've been to Chino at least once nearly every year since about 1986 and my fondest memories are from about '86 to '90. The airport has expanded considerably since then which, I'm sure, is good for city. However, the place just does not seem as "friendly" as it used to. Even the annual airshows are less friendly. Used to be you could get on the airport and wander around just about anywhere. Now there are fences everywhere to herd you around and access is much, much more restricted. Don't get me wrong, Chino is still wortht the trip and I will continue to make it but I think that the best years are behind us. My .02 cents.
