I have no clue who some of these folks are, but I am amazed at how a single post that is PASSIVELY irrelevant to the other subject matter here can motivate some people to remove themselves from the messageboard altogether. It seems akin to ejecting from a perfectly good aircraft after spotting a honeybee in the cockpit! ;D It's not as if you have to click on every post in order to navigate this message board.
The only thing more glaringly ridiculous than one person's decision to excommunicate themselves after receiving ONE negative response to an off-topic post would have to be a second UNRELATED person's decision to run away screaming from the WIX Resource because of his exposure to said post. Has the world gone mad, or does the love of warbirds somehow result in the evolution of a small sect of enthusiasts who suffer from an inexplicably obtuse and volatile emotional state that can only be remedied by complete disassociation from their piers?! :D
Mr. Clark, if one moment of conjecture over an off-topic post is all that is required to completely surpass your threshold for social intolerance, causing you to banish this extensive and long-lived information resource, I'm left to wonder what your motivation was to visit WIX in the first place! I can't imagine any true warbird enthusiast 'taking a hike' to prove a personal point that is for all intents & purposes completely irrelevant to this board's purposes. Next time you might consider simply not clicking on any post that doesn't reflect your personal interests in its title. Such a response surely trumps your decision to deprive yourself of such a deep reservoir of information on account of a slightly imperfect (read: 'human') format.
Judging from the amount of spam that litters so many other message boards, I for one will continue to frequent the WIX board, which remains the premier source for up-to-the-minute warbird info on the Internet. It's also one hell of a fine example of a successful Internet community!
Lucky for you and yours, you won't know what you're missing :)
