Tony,
I also have a copy of that photo that was sent to me from the guy in Russia. No, I don't think that it could be a Doolittle bird because of the engines, which are definately B-25C or D, the bubble over the navigator's compartment, which would cause me to think that it's definately a D, and the ventral turret, which would make me really suspicious.
Anyhow, the fellow I talked to said that he thought that the plane was scrapped sometime around 1950. :-( X 100! I am hopeful that he's wrong, but I really think he's probably right.
