Additional info:

Please reference the attached pictures. In the first one notice that inside someone wrote "H-S-88888-1 Bull. 486". I wonder if the 486 was an aircraft tail #? By the way the base is 22 and 3/8 inches in diameter and it is 25 inches long. Well, here`s to solving a long term mystery of "treasures from the past"! Hope you have a safer and fun holiday season.
