Hi Paul,
I heard about this story when I was looking into the Corsairs in Ireland. Their are three Cats and Two Sunderlands. The story I was told is that the Cats are US Navy aircraft and that Buddy Macon told the Brits if they try to remove the Cats. that the US Navy would come after them. I was told that someone with British Gov. told thru the US State Dept. to tell Macon to back off or their would be a serious problem.
Like I said I heard this at a meeting of a number of museum memeber in DC.
I do agree what you said Paul. Thou I would go after the Suds. just because of the rariety.
