I understood the RAF would only release a pilots records from a request by a relative.. So it is a chicken
and egg..

I think you need to go through the peoplefinder option.. Or if you knew where they were born you could
request a copy of the birth certificate from Kew. From that you should be able to trace marriage/birth records
etc of the parents.. Then do a request through local parish records.. It can be done, but better if you paid a
professionaly. And a lot of what I have told you is me remembering stuff I have read about in various magazines,
newspapers etc and may not be 100% accurate!

There is general information here about tracing military personnel (example is for army, but the MOD, Medals, pension stuff would
also work with RAF)

Though if the pilot had a widow, who collected a widows pension and was still alive they would have an
address. Big if...
