RAF Museum - Hendon

Hi all,
I made a visit to Hendon on Monday and for those interested, I have uploaded the pictures to Webshots.

I felt that the new displays were good but do have a few niggles.

The name Milestones, I think, is a little misleading as I feel that many of the airframes aren't nessacarily 'Milestones' in aviation. The Bleriot XI, helicopter (Hoverfly?), Me262, Harrier and maybe even the Mosquito and P-51D I can see as 'milestones' but the Hawker Hart, Bf109G, Ki-100, Tempest TT5 or the toy Typhoon (Eurofighter not Hawker's finest)?.

Also, at risk of upsetting our cousins across the Pond, why has P-51D 'The Duck' been displayed in such a prominant way. Would it not have been more within keeping of the exhibition's name, to have had Spitfire I 'X4590' on the roundabout?

The Grahame-White Hanger is good if a little spartan but at least its good to actually be able to see the WW1 airframes without anything in the way and there is room for further airframes!

One final gripe for the directors, please get some more light bulbs!

Anyway, enjoy the pictures.

Tony
