I booked a flight to Ontario to attend the Spence's show in 1997. The "you have to see it to believe it" tales of a DC-4 landing on a little strip through the cornfields played a big part in my decision. Alas, that was the year the Spences elected to stop holding the show, so I never got to see the spectacle first-hand. (And fortunately, Wings over Kalamazoo was held the same weekend, so with a little added driving the trip still proved worthwhile.)
