The P-40 that you are referring to is N4420K (AK753) which was bought and restored by Ron Fagen of Minnesota. This was the plane that had all the non-P-40 parts on it.

Deimert did also own AK940 (now owned by Banta Aviation) for about 3 months in 1969 before selling it to Dr. Bill Anderson. I don't believe he did much, if any work on it before selling it to Anderson.

I'm watching a show about aviation on the CBC in French an
: d they just showed ole Diemert with his Defender (humbly s
: erialed RL 208!!! LOL). Outside was a P-40, AVG markings.
: It looked like it had Lancaster cowlings (!!) instead of
: what you'd found on P-40s. Round spinner, paddle blades
: like a Lanc III and the rest associated with the bomber.

: I'm sure the other French Canucks are watching the same ri
: ght now, but can anyone enlighten me about that P-40?
:
: Oh yeah, they showed the Pond Racer flying earlier in the
: show, and Rare Bear had a 4-bladed prop and was reddish, n
: ot purple, so it might be old...
