: : 2. Geneseo B-24, Lanc, and B-17's
Geneseo 1991. One of my all time favorites, and I'm glad I took photos of it, as I don't think I'll ever see this happen again.
:
: Kalamazoo/USN "Cat Flight"
I never saw this complete -- The nearest thing to it was at Wings of Eagles in Batavia in 1995, with Hellcat, Tigercat, Bearcat, Tomcat, and a Corsair subbing for a Wildcat.
: Ellis/Snodgrass F7F/F-14 demo
Saw this at Batavia in 1996 -- Still the most incredible dual aerobatic routine I've ever seen (especially considering the unmatched nature of the participants)
: Sean Tucker (Pitts Challenger)/three Robinson helos
: B-17/LB-30/B-29/Lancaster at HIAS 93 (weathered-out; seen
: only on Thurs media day)
I know that they had examples of all four at Elmira in 2000, but only on the Sunday. I didn't stay, so I don't know if they actually did a formation together.
: Sabre (Rossi)/F-104s (Starfighters team)/CF-18 at Trenton
: 99 (seen only on media day...why oh why...! but at least
: it made the TV news...)
This was spectacular, but why did they have to be so high up? The only person with decent pictures was Mike Reyno in the chase CF-18 -- Lucky $%&@!
Of course, there's the CWH Lancaster/Hurricane with the Mosquito and Spitfire too.
Another contender would be the 36 ship CF-104 formation that was put together once by the RCAF in Europe -- I forget the specific occasion, but I think it was 4 aircraft from each of the 9 RCAF squadrons in Europe at the time, arranged in a huge diamond.
