I am in complete agreement with you; most of the people I have met, have been nice and kind; there are -human nature- some rotten SOBs, but they will be rotten no matter what. I have seen and lived through my share of personal things -like a new guy at our airport, who came to invite everyone sitting at a table, to his house warming. He handed out invitations to 7 out of 8 people sitting at the table . . . and kept going and kept handing invitations to everyone else. It doesn't make me mad anymore, I just would not seek any kind of dealings with such people, and in the long run, they end up losing.
As for me, just the chance to be allowed to visit a specific airplane, or a museum, or to thank a veteran for his service, well, that kind of makes my day, when it happens.
I would say that 98-99% of my experiences have been positive, with just one or two Rotten SOBs, to give balance and perspective for the rest : )
