Phew, You had me sweating a bit on that one... was afraid you'd say National Warplane Museum in Geneseo in the early 90's... I was a 12 year-old tour guide then and I feared it would have been me.

Though I knew my stuff and wasn't full of BS... I hope!

: I don't know if I should write this down as "worst" becaus
: e the collection is impressive; it was just that the kid a
: cting as a tour guide, was so full of b.s. that it became
: painful after a while.
:
: The Creve Coeur, MO antique airplane museum, where they ha
: ve mostly, biplanes on exhibit. Great collection, with mos
: tly flying classics, and even a Curtiss Wright biplane bac
: k from Argentina. The problem? The kid. He was telling, pr
: obably to a non-aviation educated audience, that he person
: ally had seen the year previously (2001) P-51 Mustangs bei
: ng operated by the air force in Argentina. That was the la
: st straw, and I was forced to say something. It went downh
: ill from there. In any case, this kid did not know the dif
: ference between a twin-engine Pucara and a single engine P
: -51...
:
: All he knew was, that the airplanes wore camouflage, and h
: e saw them from far away...
:
: Conversation with the museum owner, indicated that the kid
: was full of it, and it was not the first time he was caug
: ht making up stuff, dates, historical facts and so on.
:
: STILL, if you can go to Creve Coeur and visit the museum,
: is very much worth the trip. Ignore the kid.
:
: Saludos!
