Sorry, I probably said something you may have taken that way in my post about present-day valuations of different types...re the PV, what I said (iirc) was that they weren't involved in any "famous" actions. The implication is supposed to be that "famous" is not necessarily synonymous with "worthwhile"!

Absolutely. It's market-driven, just like vintage cars. And given the expenses involved even beyond acquisition, that is perfectly understandable; the mystery is, why do some items end up as "icons" and other equally worthwhile examples not?
BTW I didn't realize you were involved with the Ventura at Edmonton. I saw that one in May 95 during a brief visit at AAviaM. Actually I think it's the only PV-1 I've yet seen. How is it coming along?
