Fair enough....
The trouble with the internet is you can't see the person making the comment so you can't judge the inflection.
Mind you, this has made me sit back and wonder just how the value of these aircraft are determined.
In my view, the perceived value of any warbird is secondary to the personel that manned them. The aircraft themselves did not 'do' anything, it was the crews that performed duties under arduous and sometimes near impossible conditions with the equipment they had, and that equipment's limitations, that is of true value.
Thus when someone even suggests that the 'aircraft's contribution' was worthless, it tends to make my blood boil.
So you have to wonder if the values of the warbirds on the market are artificially inflated, bent more towards what someone is willing to pay rather than rarity.
I should know that everyone here is 'on the same page' when it comes to our common bond so apologize for any inference otherwise.
