Out of interest, a couple of years ago my dad bought him self a '30 year old' MGB. He always wanted one and this baby cost him ?17,000.. The reason being he bought it from a classic car dealer and it looked like it came straight out of the factory.. With whalnut veneer dash, white leather interior, chrome wheels etc etc

However, what it was and why it cost so much was that it was an old MGB scrapped with a completely new body. All the other bits were either reconditioned from the 'doner' vechical or newly manufactured etc. You can get most MGB bits 'new' now as there is the market for them.

The interesting bit is the UK Government classes it as a 30 year old car and my old man is happy about this because he does not have to pay road tax!

However, when asked (when it gets admiring glances, because it is absolutely gorgeous) my dad always says it is a 'new car' and he tells everyone its history.. But the UK Government can't understand this and says it is a 'old car'... Who is right???
