Well this is an old friend. I used to own it. Way back in 1973 I rescued/recovered this machine from a scrap yard in Warrington in the UK. It is Seafire XVII SX336. I basically traded it off with my partner Neville Franklin for his share in our then jointly owned Seafire 46. Neville, with a little help from myself, acquired most of the missing parts before passing it to Craig Charleston who initiated the restoration before in turn passing it on to Peter Wood. Peter shovelled some of the big money in over many years before selling to Tim Manna quite recently. Having seen the machine a couple of months back it clearly is close to flying, perhaps not this year but certainly next. I am looking forward to that as I believe 2004 will be the year of the Seafire.
