David,
Based at Abbott's Yard, Newark, with Neville Franklin (Not Newark Air Museum) we had, over a period of the early 1970's, parts from four Seafires. LA564 and LA546, both Mk 46 and SX300 and SX336 both Mk XVII. Any one of these might be called a 'cockpit section'. The condition judged at the time ranged from 'apalling to God almighty' but we had the vision and the foresight (or naivety).......... and a few detractors.
Was this cockpit Spitfire/Seafire? Neville had so much 'junk' there collected over the previous decade.
Peter
: Peter - When you had parts at Newark did you also recover
: the remains of a cockpit?
