: Authentic: Rebuilt to factory Standards with original data

: Replica: Built from factory drawings or reverse engineered

: Original: 75% original equipment and metal (very rare)
What about composite aircraft built from multiple airframes? I don't think this fits into the replica catagory but it also isn't original either.
Personally, I think that the history of warbirds is a little tough to classify with terms. Each aircraft is unique and should be treated as such and not lumped into specific and altogether vague catagories.
: Do we need more? Keep it simple, as in any aircraft rebuil
: d..not much original survives anyway
I agree.
: You just can't compare aircraft to cars...IMHO ;)
Yet again I agree.. it a different breed of animal entirely.
I understand what Mr. Coggan is looking for but I don't think the nature of warbirds allows such classification without have nearly as many clasifications as extant airframes.
